568-262 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Ordered as SV70262, this is an AS568-262 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 6.984 in (177.39 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.262 in (184.45 mm). The square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) delivers very low compression set at elevated temperature and outstanding high-temperature capability. It resists chlorinated solvents, aggressive chemicals, and petroleum oils and fuels. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in hot water and steam or ketones and esters. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
