The SH70271 is an AS568-271 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 9.234 in (234.54 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.512 in (241.6 mm). This square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

It resists greases and lubricants, many alcohols, and water. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, strong abrasion and tear resistance. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Verify compatibility before use with ozone and direct sunlight or strong acids. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size.
