APG stocks the SH70311, an AS568-311 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.537 in (13.64 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.957 in (24.31 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for strong abrasion and tear resistance, an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs. This material stands up to hydraulic fluids, many alcohols, and water. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

It sees regular use in construction equipment, automotive, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
