SV70311 is an AS568-311 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 0.537 in (13.64 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.957 in (24.31 mm). In service, this square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.
Viton® (FKM) is specified here for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. The compound resists aggressive chemicals, engine and transmission fluids, and chlorinated solvents. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids are present. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
Common environments for this compound include aerospace, chemical processing, and high-temperature process equipment.
SV70311 ships individually. Nominal inside diameter is listed as 9/16 inch. Application requirements vary, so validate compatibility with your process conditions prior to installation.
