568-313 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SH70313 is an AS568-313 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.662 in (16.81 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.082 in (27.48 mm). This square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, strong abrasion and tear resistance. This material stands up to water, greases and lubricants, and petroleum-based oils. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in strong acids or ozone and direct sunlight. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
