568-317 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Part number SH70317 is an AS568-317 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 0.912 in (23.16 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.332 in (33.83 mm). A square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

Expect good resistance to petroleum-based oils, many alcohols, and water. Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
