This o-ring is supplied in AS568-318 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 0.975 in (24.77 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.395 in (35.43 mm), catalogued under part number VITON75318. It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

The compound resists aggressive chemicals, many acids, and petroleum oils and fuels. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) offers the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments.
