568-319 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

This square-cut ring is supplied in AS568-319 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 1.037 in (26.34 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.457 in (37.01 mm), catalogued under part number SV70319. It provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

The material holds up against many acids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and aggressive chemicals. Viton® (FKM) is specified for outstanding high-temperature capability and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
