Part number SV70323 is an AS568-323 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.287 in (32.69 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.707 in (43.36 mm). A square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

Expect good resistance to petroleum oils and fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents. Viton® (FKM) delivers very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
