568-326 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Ordered as SV70326, this is an AS568-326 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 1.6 in (40.64 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.02 in (51.31 mm). The square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. This material stands up to engine and transmission fluids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in hot water and steam or amines. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
