APG stocks the SV70328, an AS568-328 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.85 in (46.99 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.27 in (57.66 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.
Viton® (FKM) is specified here for outstanding high-temperature capability and industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. The material holds up against many acids, aggressive chemicals, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where hot water and steam or ketones and esters are present. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across chemical processing, high-temperature process equipment, and automotive fuel systems.
Stocked as SV70328 and sold individually. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. Not finding the exact configuration you need? APG cross-references from prints, samples and competitor part numbers.
