568-329 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SV70329 is an AS568-329 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.975 in (50.17 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.395 in (60.83 mm). This square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is known for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The compound resists petroleum oils and fuels, many acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids are present. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

Typical settings include aerospace, oil and gas, and high-temperature process equipment.
