Part number SV70330 is an AS568-330 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.1 in (53.34 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.52 in (64.01 mm). A square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for very low compression set at elevated temperature and outstanding high-temperature capability. The material holds up against petroleum oils and fuels, aggressive chemicals, and chlorinated solvents. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving ketones and esters or amines call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
