568-331 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Ordered as SV70331, this is an AS568-331 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.225 in (56.52 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.645 in (67.18 mm). The square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Expect good resistance to engine and transmission fluids, petroleum oils and fuels, and aggressive chemicals. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in amines or ketones and esters. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
