568-345 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70345 is an AS568-345 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 3.975 in (100.97 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.395 in (111.63 mm). In service, this square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

Viton® (FKM) is valued for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The compound resists aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and aggressive chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to amines or hot water and steam will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

Typical settings include chemical processing, oil and gas, and aerospace.
