568-351 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Ordered as SV70351, this is an AS568-351 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 4.725 in (120.02 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.145 in (130.68 mm). The square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for outstanding high-temperature capability, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The material holds up against many acids, engine and transmission fluids, and chlorinated solvents. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
