568-355 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SV70355 is an AS568-355 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 5.225 in (132.72 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.645 in (143.38 mm). This square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

This material stands up to engine and transmission fluids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and many acids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) delivers outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Exposure to hot water and steam or ketones and esters will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
