568-359 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70359 is an AS568-359 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 5.725 in (145.42 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.145 in (156.08 mm). In service, this square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. This material stands up to aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and many acids. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam are present. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
