APG stocks the SV70361, an AS568-361 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 5.975 in (151.77 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.395 in (162.43 mm). A square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.
Viton® (FKM) is specified here for outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The compound resists aggressive chemicals, chlorinated solvents, and many acids. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
It sees regular use in aerospace, oil and gas, and semiconductor equipment.
SV70361 ships individually. Nominal inside diameter is listed as 6 inch. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. If you need a size, durometer or compound that is not listed, APG can cross-reference from a print, a sample or a competitor part number.
