SV70370 is an AS568-370 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 8.225 in (208.92 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.645 in (219.58 mm). In service, this square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The material holds up against many acids, engine and transmission fluids, and aggressive chemicals. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids are present. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
