568-371 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SH70371 is an AS568-371 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 8.475 in (215.27 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.895 in (225.93 mm). In service, this square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

The compound resists greases and lubricants, petroleum-based oils, and propane and butane. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where ketones or strong acids are present. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
