SV70372 is an AS568-372 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 8.725 in (221.62 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.145 in (232.28 mm). In service, this square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.
As a material, Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for very low compression set at elevated temperature and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. The material holds up against many acids, chlorinated solvents, and petroleum oils and fuels. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across oil and gas, high-temperature process equipment, and semiconductor equipment.
Stocked as SV70372 and sold individually. Confirm chemical compatibility, pressure and temperature against your own application requirements before installing. APG supports cross-referencing from drawings, samples and competitor numbers when a listed size is not an exact fit.
