568-373 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70373 is an AS568-373 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 8.975 in (227.97 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.395 in (238.63 mm). In service, this square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

Viton® (FKM) delivers outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The compound resists aggressive chemicals, chlorinated solvents, and petroleum oils and fuels. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Verify compatibility before use with ketones and esters or hot water and steam. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
