568-374 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Ordered as SV70374, this is an AS568-374 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 9.225 in (234.32 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.645 in (244.98 mm). The square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

Viton® (FKM) is valued for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The compound resists many acids, aggressive chemicals, and engine and transmission fluids. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Verify compatibility before use with hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
