Ordered as SV70377, this is an AS568-377 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 9.975 in (253.37 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 10.395 in (264.03 mm). The square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.
As a material, Viton® (FKM) is specified for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. It resists chlorinated solvents, petroleum oils and fuels, and many acids. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where ketones and esters or hot water and steam are present. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across oil and gas, semiconductor equipment, and automotive fuel systems.
Stocked as SV70377 and sold individually. Application requirements vary, so validate compatibility with your process conditions prior to installation.
