568-378 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Ordered as SV70378, this is an AS568-378 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 10.475 in (266.07 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 10.895 in (276.73 mm). The square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

This material stands up to aggressive chemicals, engine and transmission fluids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) delivers the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving ketones and esters or amines call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
