568-382 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SV70382 is an AS568-382 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 12.975 in (329.57 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 13.395 in (340.23 mm). This square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. This material stands up to aggressive chemicals, chlorinated solvents, and many acids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where hot water and steam or amines are present. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
