APG stocks the TFE403, an AS568-403 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.725 in (43.82 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.275 in (57.79 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.
This material stands up to strong acids and bases, steam, and nearly all industrial chemicals. PTFE (Teflon) delivers near-universal chemical inertness and a very wide continuous service temperature range. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature.
