568-433 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Ordered as SV70433, this is an AS568-433 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 5.475 in (139.07 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.025 in (153.04 mm). The square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

Viton® (FKM) is specified for very low compression set at elevated temperature and outstanding high-temperature capability. It resists chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
