APG stocks the SV70443, an AS568-443 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 7.475 in (189.87 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.025 in (203.84 mm). A square-cut ring presents a flat rectangular section that cannot roll or twist in its groove, making it a dependable static seal.

Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, very low compression set at elevated temperature. Expect good resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons, many acids, and petroleum oils and fuels. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids are present. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

It sees regular use in aerospace, automotive fuel systems, and chemical processing.
