568-461 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

APG stocks the SH70461, an AS568-461 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 15.955 in (405.26 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 16.505 in (419.23 mm). A square-cut ring presents a flat rectangular section that cannot roll or twist in its groove, making it a dependable static seal.

Buna-N (Nitrile) offers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, low compression set under sustained load. Expect good resistance to hydraulic fluids, greases and lubricants, and propane and butane. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in polar solvents or ozone and direct sunlight. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

It sees regular use in agricultural equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and fluid power.
