568-466 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SV70466 is an AS568-466 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 18.455 in (468.76 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 19.005 in (482.73 mm). This square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

It resists aromatic hydrocarbons, engine and transmission fluids, and petroleum oils and fuels. Viton® (FKM) is known for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids are present. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
