SV70473 is an AS568-473 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 23.94 in (608.08 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 24.49 in (622.05 mm). In service, this square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

It resists aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and many acids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) offers long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Verify compatibility before use with ketones and esters or amines. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

It sees regular use in automotive fuel systems, aerospace, and oil and gas.
