568-912 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SH70912 is an AS568-912 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 0.924 in (23.47 mm), a cross section of 0.116 in (2.95 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.156 in (29.36 mm). This square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

Expect good resistance to hydraulic fluids, water, and propane and butane. Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to strong acids or polar solvents will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
