This square-cut cord stock is supplied in black EPDM (EPR) 60 Shore A supplied with a cross section of 0.625 in (15.88 mm), catalogued under part number 0292625. It ships as continuous square-cut stock so a custom-length seal can be cut and spliced on site.

EPDM (EPR) is known for outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance, strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations. Expect good resistance to phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, brake fluid, and ozone, UV and weathering. Exposure to petroleum oils and fuels or mineral oil-based lubricants will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
