Ordered as 0297625, this is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Square-Cut Cord Stock supplied with a cross section of 0.625 in (15.88 mm). The square-cut cord stock ships as continuous square-cut stock so a custom-length seal can be cut and spliced on site.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The compound resists engine and transmission fluids, petroleum oils and fuels, and aggressive chemicals. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

Typical settings include automotive fuel systems, high-temperature process equipment, and oil and gas.
