This compression packing is supplied in Carbon Fiber with Graphite built to a 7/16 inch square cross section, catalogued under part number 11760437-05. Carbon Fiber with Graphite is specified here for no aging, hardening or embrittlement over time and conformability that seals imperfect flange faces. The compound resists steam, fire exposure, and thermal shock. It should not be specified for service in strong oxidizing acids or highly oxidizing service above rated temperature.
