316L Stainless Steel is specified for dimensional stability under thermal cycling and long service life in demanding outdoor environments. Expect good resistance to chemical attack, elevated temperature, and corrosion and oxidation. Exposure to chloride stress cracking in some grades or galvanic pairing with dissimilar metals will shorten service life.
