This material stands up to high-temperature steam, sour gas and hydrogen sulfide, and hot water. Aflas (TFE/P) offers strong resistance to rapid gas decompression and excellent electrical insulating properties. Rated temperature range runs from -25°F (-31.7°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Applications involving aromatic hydrocarbons or some chlorinated solvents call for a different compound.

Typical settings include chemical processing, downhole tooling, and geothermal equipment.
