THREAD SEAL STEEL PLATED

APG stocks the ATS7500-5/8, a black Buna-N (Nitrile) Thread Seal measuring an inside diameter of 0.625 in (15.88 mm). A thread seal prevents weepage at threaded ports without additional tape or sealant. This item is further identified as Nitrile 70 -5/8.

The material holds up against water, hydraulic fluids, and propane and butane. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, strong abrasion and tear resistance. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving automotive brake fluid or polar solvents call for a different compound.
