KLINGER®sil C-4500 is specified for a calendered, compressed fiber structure bound with elastomer and reliable sealing on flanges with modest surface finish. The compound resists hydrocarbons, elevated flange loads, and steam and hot water. Applications involving service beyond the published pressure-temperature envelope or strong oxidizing acids in some grades call for a different compound.
