The N70048 is an AS568-048 black Neoprene (Chloroprene) 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 4.739 in (120.37 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.879 in (123.93 mm). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Neoprene (Chloroprene) is specified here for dependable general-purpose sealing in exposed installations and strong performance in refrigeration circuits. The material holds up against sunlight and salt spray, ozone and weathering, and moderate petroleum oil exposure. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where strong oxidizing acids or aromatic hydrocarbons are present.
