Ordered as N70338, this is an AS568-338 black Neoprene (Chloroprene) 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 3.1 in (78.74 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.52 in (89.41 mm). The o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

Neoprene (Chloroprene) is specified here for inherent flame-retarding characteristics and good resilience across a moderate temperature band. It resists moderate petroleum oil exposure, refrigerants and ammonia, and mild acids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to aromatic hydrocarbons or strong oxidizing acids will shorten service life.
