Part number E6X40 is a black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 40 mm (1.575 in), a cross section of 6 mm (0.236 in), and an outside diameter of 52 mm (2.05 in). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
The material holds up against ketones, ozone, UV and weathering, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) delivers good electrical insulating characteristics, outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). Exposure to mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons will shorten service life.
It sees regular use in HVAC and refrigeration, water and steam systems, and brake and phosphate ester systems.
Stocked as E6X40 and sold individually. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. Not finding the exact configuration you need? APG cross-references from prints, samples and competitor part numbers.
