It resists weathering, many petroleum products, and general atmospheric corrosion. Aluminum is specified for good corrosion resistance in general industrial service and reduced operator fatigue on frequent connection cycles. It is not the right choice where galvanic pairing with dissimilar metals or prolonged salt water immersion are present.

It sees regular use in agriculture and irrigation, tank truck and bulk transfer, and construction and dewatering.
