Aluminum is specified here for high strength-to-weight ratio that eases handling of large sizes and economical cost per connection. Expect good resistance to weathering, many petroleum products, and general atmospheric corrosion. It is not the right choice where strong acids and alkalis or prolonged salt water immersion are present.
