V6X290 is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 290 mm (11.417 in), a cross section of 6 mm (0.236 in), and an outside diameter of 302 mm (11.89 in). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

This material stands up to chlorinated solvents, engine and transmission fluids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is specified for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and outstanding high-temperature capability. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C).
