The V4X31 is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 31 mm (1.22 in), a cross section of 4 mm (0.157 in), and an outside diameter of 39 mm (1.54 in). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for very low compression set at elevated temperature and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Expect good resistance to many acids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life.
