Ordered as V4X40, this is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 40 mm (1.575 in), a cross section of 4 mm (0.157 in), and an outside diameter of 48 mm (1.89 in). The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Expect good resistance to many acids, engine and transmission fluids, and petroleum oils and fuels. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is valued for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Applications involving amines or ketones and esters call for a different compound.
