It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is valued for outstanding high-temperature capability, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. This material stands up to engine and transmission fluids, many acids, and aggressive chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where ketones and esters or amines are present.
